The Dutch Royal Library
Project Brief
ZANTOS was asked to design a modern, pleasant working environment for a total of 40 people, including a service desk, waiting area, offices, and meeting rooms.
What Zantos Delivered
We renewed, furnished and decorated the new headquarters of Stichting Bibliotheken (Dutch Foundation of Libraries). It was a total area of 1,100m2. In just six weeks, ZANTOS stripped the old offices, removed solid separation walls, put in new glass walls, new carpeting and a new ceiling.
After the finishing work was completed, such as painting and new wallpaper, all of the new (and existing) furniture was moved in. To keep to the required budget, ZANTOS used existing desk chassis by simply replacing old worktops with new ones. Objects and decorations made from natural materials were incorporated in the design theme to create a warm and welcoming ambiance.
One wall was covered in rich, muted tones of golden beige, and taupe. Light brown furnishings are accented by orange carpets, lampshades, and chairs.
Through the use of lighting, colour and texture in textiles, ZANTOS created an environment that is an inviting and comfortable workplace.
